New Collaboration with Florida International University School of Business

The Italy-America Chamber of Commerce has reached an agreement with the Florida International University School of Business to develop a new internship program that will put in contact their students with the companies members of the IACCSE.

Founded in 1965, the Florida International University, with 191 programs of study and more than 280 majors in 23 colleges and schools, is a public research university with its main campus in Miami. It is the largest university in South Florida and the fourth-largest in the United States by enrollment. In 2021, U.S. News & World Report ranked FIU as the 2nd in the nation among best college for the International Business College and 8th for the International MBA program.

The College of Business is among the 5 percent of elite business schools worldwide accredited by the AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

FIU Business has built a strong reputation for excellence in international business education and research.

This is an excellent opportunity for the companies that are members of IACCSE to host highly skilled local students for an internship, and eventually to scouting for future employees.

The main Italian daily business newspaper “Il Sole 24 Ore” published on Saturday January 16th an article about Miami and the growing economic vitality of the entire Southeast of the USA.

30 YEARS IN BUSINESS

Dear IACCSE members and friends,

We are pleased to present to you today the commemorative logo celebrating the 30th anniversary of our organization that will stay with us throughout 2021.

Since 1991, the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce Southeast supported hundreds of Italian entrepreneurs in approaching the American market. Through its initiatives, the Chamber has opened the path for many companies that eventually created subsidiaries in the United States and generated several hundred jobs over the course of the last 30 years.

We have stayed always true to our mission of helping the “Made in Italy” exports in this strategic area of the World as well as in creating a professional environment where entrepreneurs, managers and institutional partners can meet and discuss new opportunities.

As for most nonprofit organizations, our work has not always been easy, but we are proud of what we have achieved and of the progresses made since our beginning.

Hopefully 2021 will mark the resurgence for many companies and for both US and Italy economies. We are ready to backing these efforts with interesting and innovative initiatives.

To celebrate this milestone the IACCSE is preparing a rich program of events that will culminate in December 2021 with the long awaited Italic Award Gala.

Covid-TESTED flights between the United States and Italy

Italy’s Official Gazette has published Ordinance signed by the Ministers of Health, Transport and Foreign Affairs, authorizing the start of a trial of “Covid-tested” flights between some U.S. airports (New York JFK, Newark Liberty and Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson) and Rome Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci airport.

This is a very important development for bilateral relations, and is aimed at promoting air travel connections between Italy and the United States, in full compliance with high levels of health safety both for travelers, and our country.

Passengers who test negative after meeting the following conditions will be able to enter Italy without needing to undergo health surveillance or a 14-day period of self-isolation: travelers who get a negative rapid antigenic test directly at the airport in the U.S., or who present a negative PCR or antigenic molecular test certificate issued within 48 hours before their departure. In both cases, these must be followed by second (negative) test carried upon arrival in Rome Fiumicino airport, in designated facilities that have already been set up.

Equally, flights departing from Italy to the United States will be able to board passengers who have tested negative. Upon arrival, passengers will have to comply with the updated recommendations of US authorities.

Airlines operating connections between the interested airports are considering starting “Covid-tested” US-Italy flights as soon as in the next few weeks.

The IACCSE announces a preview of its 2021 calendar of events

In occasion of the its 30th anniversary, the Italy America Chamber of Commerce is planning a new year rich of special events.

Following the public health guidance, during the first part of the year the IACCSE will hold mostly digital events, but with an international twist, as we will invite our members to connect and network with members from other Italian Chambers in North and South America.

During the second part of the year, we will hopefully go back to our signature in-person events including a spectacular Italian Gala in occasion of our 30th anniversary celebration.

The IACCSE launches the “Business Expert Channel”

The “Business Expert Channel” is the new video guide designed to support the internationalization of small and medium Italian companies to the U.S. market. Conceived as an online channel for entrepreneurs, the Business Expert Channel has the objective to gather insightful information provided by recognized professionals and experts, while making them easily accessible, free, and useful.

The projects, ideated by the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce Southeast (IACCSE), consists of a digital library made of an exclusive collection of short videos on legal, tax and trade issues.

The channel uses the website https://bec.iaccse.com as main platform.

The published videos will then reposted on the IACCSE social media and by the public and private partners who support the project.

Lawyers, accountants, and consultants with an extensive knowledge of the United States share, through this platform, recommendations and suggestions to correctly approach a market that is certainly complex, extremely competitive and with high operating costs, but also full of opportunities like only few others in the world.

The videos are in Italian and address the most common topics related to international trade and investments. All the videos are available to the website users at no registration costs, and they can be easily shared.

The project starts with seven in-depth topics, followed by many more that are still underway.

IACCSE 30 Years Anniversary 1991-2021

Next year will represent an historical moment for the IACCSE as 2021 will mark 30 years since the Chamber was incorporated back in March 2021.

Two Webinars for Italian Design Companies

The IACCSE has planned two interesting webinars dedicated to the furniture industry and the interior design market in the US.

On September 21^st, the furniture distributor ‘The Linea Studio’ and an architectural firm ‘One Design Build’, both located in South Florida, will share with the attendees their expertise and views about the US market and how it is evolving. The event has been organized in collaboration with Centro Estero of the Piedmont Region within the “Made in Piemonte Luxury & Design” campaign, a project focused on assisting furniture manufacturing companies located in the area around the city of Turin that want to expand their horizons to the US market. Subsequently to the event, the two South Florida design experts have arranged virtual one-on-one b2b meetings with a group of selected Italian furniture producers.

On October 8^th, the IACCSE has invited three prestigious speakers from the furniture and design industry who will discuss their perception of opportunities after the Covid-19 crisis, dispensing valuable advice and practical tips on how to approach the US market. The webinar will be held in collaboration with Unioncamere, the association of Chambers of Commerce in Italy, as part of the project ‘Stay Export’.

The speakers are representatives from well known brands, and they will be announced soon.

First-ever online networking event by the 5 Italian Chambers in the U.S.

The Italy-America Chamber of Commerce Southeast is excited to announce its inaugural edition of Vitality, the first-ever online networking event connecting members of 5 official Italian Chambers in the U.S. organized in collaboration with our sister chambers in New York, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles.

Vitality will be hosted on a cutting-edge platform through which the attendees will have the opportunity to search and filter people they would like to connect with, and schedules video calls for one-on-one meetings.
